Donald John Trump was born on June 14, 1946 in Queens, New York. He is the fourth of five children. His father Fred had real estate company, Elizabeth Trump & Son. The company name was later changed to The Trump Organization in 1971. His mother Mary Anne worked as a maid. She and Fred raised Trump in Jamaica, Queens.
Trump enrolled in the Kew-Forest School. His parents sent him to attend a private boarding school, the New York Military Academy at the age of 13, after knowing he had made frequent trips into Manhattan without taking their permission.
Trump attended Fordham University in 1964. He transferred to Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania after 2 years. He studied economics and worked at Elizabeth Trump & Son while attending Wharton. He graduated from Wharton in May 1968.
Trump got married thrice. His first wife was Ivana Zelnickova Winklmayr, with whom he had 3 children Donald John Trump Jr., Ivanka Trump and Eric Trump. His divorce with Ivana finalized in 1992. He got re-married in 1993 to Marla Maples. They have one daughter together, Tiffany Trump. Trump filed for divorce in 1997 and had a settlement worth of $2 million to Maples.
He is currently married to Melania Trump, a Slovenian model. She is 23 years younger than him. They had a lavish wedding in January 2005. They have one son together, Barron William, born in March 2006.

Trump and 2016 presidential election
He began seeking nomination for the Reform Party for the 2000 presidential race. He withdrew and again announced to run for presidency in the 2012 election. He became an official Republican nominee defying polls and projections in 2016. He had electoral win against Hilary Clinton that confirmed his position as 45th president of US.
He accepted presidential nomination on July 21, 2016 at the Republican National Convention in Cleveland. There he gave a long speech on how he would tackle situations on immigration, economy, trade, violence and terrorism in America.
His controversial acts prior to election hindered his chance of winning. He had offended many women by making inappropriate remarks. Later he posted an apology online on Facebook.
First Presidential Term
After winning the election, he swore his oath as 45th president of US on January 20, 2017. He said in his inaugural speech that “January 20, 2017, will be remembered as the day the people became the rulers of this nation again.”
Following the day of inauguration, the streets across US and the world were filled with millions of protesters. Many celebrities and activities like Angela Davis, Cher, America Ferrera joined the protest.
Russian Hackers in 2016 Election
Trump received allegations that he associated with Vladimir Putin in order to win the election. It was reported that Russia tried to hack DNC emails. FBI along with CIA and NSA reported that Russian president Putin influenced the 2016 presidential election.
Gun Control and Controversial Travel Ban
17 students and faculty died in the recent shooting on 14th February, 2018 at Majorary Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida. To tackle this tragedy Trump ordered to issue rules and regulations banning bump stocks and strengthening background checks to rise minimum age for purchasing rifles.
He signed an executive order on January 2017 to keep radical Islamic terrorists out of US. His order was one of his most controversial acts. His order banned immigrants from 7 Muslim countries- Iraq, Syria, Sudan, Iran, Somalia, Libya and Yemen for at least 3 months. The order also suspended refugee entries for 4 months and prohibited Syrian refugees for an unlimited period.
This order faced many obstacles to become effective. The travel ban order was reconstructed and it became effective in December 2017, barring citizens of Yemen, Syria, Somalia, Libya, Iran, North Korea, Chad and some people from Venezuela to be unable to emigrate to US permanently. Some people are also banned from traveling, working and studying in the US.
